INSPIRATION

The concept of HappySelling was born during Neil’s time as a Customer Success Coach (training sales representatives in Sales Enablement whilst at Showpad). Often even after training had ended with Neil wishing reps “HappySelling”, more and more frequently SDRs began asking for sales tips and techniques from Neil, as opposed to wanting to learn about the software itself. Neil recognised a gap in the market and the idea of HappySelling began to take shape.

VISION

Experienced in working with Fortune 500 corporates, start-ups and scale-ups alike, Neil’s vision is to help turn the SDRs of today into the leaders of tomorrow and to put the fun and happiness back into sales training during this process. With HappySelling - it starts and ends with the SDRs.

This was inspired by a discussion with mentor Jacco van der Kooij (Founder of Winning By Design). Jacco had said:

With Sales, we tend to get into this profession with ideas of making money, travelling to new places and meeting new people. However, over time, sales becomes more so numbers, metrics, pipeline and all the boring stuff. Sales can be fun and feel like a game of chess, whereby you want to be sitting on the same side of the table as the customer.

From that small seed, the idea of creating a world of HappySellers was born. It’s the application of these principles and vision, combined with Neil’s unique teaching methods, that have earned Neil a huge amount of respect amongst his corporate customers and SDR trainees alike. He’s already well on his way to creating a world of HappySellers ‘one smile at a time’ and the future is looking bright.
